Event remarks Isolated tree-fern growing in open tussocky grassland, the next individual 10m away, few others in the vicinity. Caudex erect, c.2m tall and cm diam. 7 fronds in a neat rosette at trunk apex, each raised at c.25° to the horizontal. Stipes snap cleanlyfrom the caudex with a 30° or more downward pull. Lamina texture hard and leathery, bullate, dark green and glossy adaxially. 6 FRONDS COLLECTED: Frond A- in 4 pieces, Frond B- in 5 pieces, Frond C- in 6 pieces, Frond Dand Ein 4 pieces, Frond F;- in 5 pieces. Habitat Shallow valley at high elevation with subalpine tussocky grassland and small peaty areas with low herbs only. A few tree ferns on the valley slopes, then open forest c. 8 m high.
