Event remarks Flowers rich medium yellow, lowest petal the largest; bases of petals with dull crimson or carmine mark. Anthers 2long & 3 short. Longest above longest corolla lobe. Filaments red-violet; hairy part of filaments, with clubbed red-violet hairs. Pollen orange-yellow. Lower hairs on anther filaments whitish. Calyces, peduncles, stems & main veins below leaves all coloured deep blue-red. Buds of flowers before expanding dorso-ventrally flattened like penny buns in shape. Leaves slaty olive green above, paler below. Rootstock woody; flesh whitish tough; skin brown.
