| Event remarks | Climber in Nothofagus, Phyllocladus, Papuacedrus forest. Leaves at ends of branches. Lower leaves smaller, to 36 x 1.7 cm, serrate but serrations not sharp. Longer leaves towards the apex, to 47 x 3.6 cm, serrations very sharp, Also along mid vein on lower side of leaf. Flowers apical. Associated leaves around the flowers, broader, to 25-35 x 9 cm. [0-6.5 cm green; 6.5-16 cm crimson; 16-25 cm pinkish orange]. Flower heads with 3, pinkish orange bracts to 13.5 cm long, fleshy. Flower heads 12-15 cms long with pinkish orange stalks to 5 cm long. Flowering heads to c. 7.5 cm, green when young. Also in the flowers 3 irregular bracts of the same colour. |
